Food Manufacturers, pest control in the light of COVID19
We have been advised by a food producer this morning that pest contractors are only going to provide emergency services. This means that anyone with a contract that has non toxic baits throughout is vulnerable as the regular inspections will no longer occur and the replacement of non toxic with toxic will not happen in the event of pest activity. I would like to suggest that all manufacturers revert to TOXIC baits externally - diefenacoum or bromodiolone. If the contractor will not do that for you, order online, as a matter of urgency. I would keep up your 4-6 week inspections of all boxes using a competant staff member and record any activity and replenish baits as required. If you have any historical issues next to rivers, waste skips, railway lines, close proximity building operations etc it maybe wise to ensure adequate / additional cover in these areas for the time being.
