In January 2006 the UK legislation requires every Food Business to have a full HACCP plan in place.
This is defined as having all 7 principles in place as well as a full pre requisite program.
The 7 principles are as follows:
HACCP is now also a 'FUNDAMENTAL SECTION' of the BRC and EFSIS standards. Being able to demonstarte competance in HACCP principles is now essential. Major or Critical non conformances in Fundamental Sections leads to approval not being granted.
Training and understanding of HACCP principles is now essential. Seeking external assistance is perfectly acceptable so long as the Principles are all in place and working.
